Fillmore East, February 1970 is a live album by the rock group the Allman Brothers Band. It was recorded by Owsley Stanley at the Fillmore East in Manhattan on February 11, 13, and 14, 1970. It was released on CD in 1996, and went out of print soon thereafter. In 2018, the album was remastered and rereleased by the Owsley Stanley Foundation, with the title Bear's Sonic Journals: Fillmore East, February 1970. Few live albums are as revered as The Allman Brothers Band's "Live at the Fillmore East." More than just the raw energy on stage and from the crowd, it is the electric, jazz-like interplay between the performers that sets a high bar for jam bands to reach. Vocalist-keyboardist Gregg Allman would have been a star in any other setting; here he’s merely one more component in a brilliant ensemble. Duane Allman died shortly after At Fillmore East shipped, and the Brothers haven’t scaled such heights since. But, then, neither has anyone else.

I was at the Friday night show - think it was 3/12/71. The Allmans went on before Johnny Winter and blew the roof off the Fillmore East. Duane used only the Cherry Burst LP - for slide and non slide playing. I saw them again the weekend the Fillmore closed. Still no SG for Duane.
